Fixed Braces in Hamilton: Crowded or Twisted Teeth, Straightened with Tooth-Coloured Braces
At a glance
At Hamilton Smile Studios, 20–22 Brandon Street, Hamilton, tooth-coloured fixed braces start from £3,500. They are a strong choice for crowded, overlapping and rotated teeth, and the consultation is free. Phone 01698 767220 or book online.
When teeth overlap, lean or have turned in their sockets, fixed braces give your dentist a hold on every one of them at once. Each tooth carries its own small tooth-coloured bracket, joined by a wire that is changed or adjusted at your visits, so turned teeth can be rotated back and crowded ones given room. At our Brandon Street practice, braces start from £3,500. 1
There's no charge for the consultation; a £20 deposit holds the slot and comes back to you within 7 days of coming in. We provide braces privately, as NHS orthodontics for adults is limited.
Crowding and Rotation, Explained
Most crooked smiles come down to a shortage of room in the jaw. Here's how that tends to show up.
Overlapping Front Teeth
Teeth pushed in front of, or behind, their neighbours because the arch hasn't enough space for all of them.
A Rotated Tooth
A tooth turned in its socket, so you see its side or corner rather than its face when you smile.
Crowding That Crept In
Lower front teeth that were straight once and have bunched up gradually over the years.
An Eye Tooth Sitting High
A canine that came through above the line of the others because there was no room left for it.
Why Braces Are Good at Turning Teeth
Rotating a tooth means holding it firmly from more than one side. A bracket bonded to the tooth gives the wire exactly that grip, so a tooth that has twisted a long way can be brought round a little at a time, and the wire keeps working between appointments.
Aligners rely on small attachments to grip a tooth, and a rounded canine gives them little to hold on to. That's why a big rotation is one of the cases where we usually recommend braces.
Making Room
Crowded teeth need space before they can line up. Depending on how much is missing, it can come from widening the arch slightly, from slimming the sides of a few teeth by a fraction of a millimetre, or, for severe crowding, from taking a tooth out.
Which of these applies to you is explained before anything is agreed, along with what it means for the length of treatment and the fee.

At Your Free Consultation
There's no obligation. You'll find out whether braces would help, how long they're likely to be on, and the price.
How Much Room Is Missing
Your dentist looks at how short of space each arch is and which teeth have turned, overlapped or been pushed out of line.
A 3D Scan
The iTero Lumina records your teeth in a few minutes, so you can see the crowding on screen from every angle.
The Routes Open to You
Where braces and aligners could both do the job, you'll hear the pros and cons of each for your own teeth.
A Price You Can Keep
The fee, from £3,500, goes into a written plan for you to take home and think over. 1
Braces Fees
The exact figure depends on how crowded and rotated the teeth are, and it stays fixed once your plan is agreed. As with other orthodontics, the dental plan discount doesn't apply. Prices last checked October 2026. 1
Braces here are a private treatment. NHS orthodontics for adults is limited, and you can remain an NHS patient with us for your routine care while paying privately for braces.

Holding the Result
Rotated teeth are the most likely of all to drift back, so a retainer matters once the brackets are removed. It's commonly a slim wire glued behind the front teeth, a clear removable retainer for night-time, or a combination of the two.
We plan the retainers before the braces go on, and our retainers guide explains how to look after them.
