Registering as a New Patient
To join Hamilton Smile Studios, book a new patient examination online (what many people call a check-up). It costs £70 with X-rays included, at 20–22 Brandon Street in Hamilton town centre. Children can be registered on the NHS straight away, with no waiting list.
How Your First Visit Goes
Most dental examinations are with one of our associate dentists, Dr Karanveer Singh or Dr Lee Min Ning, who can then look after your routine care.

Pick a slot online, message us, or phone reception. Thursday evenings are handy if you work during the day.
Your Health Questionnaire
You fill in a medical history form, usually from a link sent to your phone beforehand. It asks about medicines, allergies and conditions such as diabetes, which all affect dental care.
Talk, Then the Check
We start by asking what you've noticed: a sore spot, a chipped edge, gums that bleed. Then we look at every tooth, your gums, your bite and the soft tissues, which is how mouth cancer is picked up early. X-rays show decay between teeth that eyes can't see.
A Plan You Can Take Home
If anything needs doing, you get it in writing with a price beside each item, and the order we'd tackle it in. Nothing is started on the day unless you want it to be.

NHS or Private, or Both
Children are registered and treated on the NHS straight away, and we are registering new NHS adults now.
On the NHS
Children join with no waiting list. In Scotland, NHS dental examinations cost nothing at any age, and treatment is free for anyone under 26. Most other adults pay 80% of the NHS fee, capped at £384 for a course of treatment. To go on the adult list, ask us to call you back.
How NHS care works herePrivately
No wait to be seen, more time in the chair and the full choice of materials. Fees are published and agreed in writing first. Many families do a bit of both: the children on the NHS, the adults on a dental plan from £24.10 a month.

If You Feel Anxious
Putting off the dentist for years is far more common than people think. Say so when you book and we'll keep the first visit to a chat and a look, with nothing done unless you're ready. For treatment, IV sedation is an option.

We can line up appointments one after another, so the whole household is seen in a single trip into Hamilton. Bring babies once the first tooth shows. Worth doing if you're coming in from Blantyre, Bothwell or Larkhall.
