What Your Child Gets with Us
Prevention comes first, so most visits are short and nothing more than a check and a chat.
Regular Dental Examinations
A look at teeth, gums and how the bite is developing. X-rays only when there's a clear reason.
Fluoride Varnish
A quick paint-on coating that strengthens enamel against decay, in line with Scotland's Childsmile programme, usually twice a year from age two.
Fissure Sealants
A thin, tooth-coloured coating over the grooves of the back adult teeth, where decay often starts. No drilling or injections.
Fillings If Needed
Small cavities are treated early and gently, with a full explanation for you and your child first.
Help After a Knock
Same-day appointments for chipped, loosened or knocked-out teeth after a fall or at sport.
Advice for the Family
Teething, toothbrushing, snacks, drinks and dummies: practical tips for the stage your child is at.
When to Bring Them
Once a first tooth shows, and certainly before they turn one.

Ask for a call back and choose an NHS place, or send us a WhatsApp message. There's no waiting list for children.
A Relaxed First Visit
Babies and toddlers often sit on a parent's lap. We count the teeth, look at the gums and answer your questions on teething, brushing and diet.
Dental Examinations From Then On
Usually every six months, or more often if your dentist suggests it. If you're coming with brothers or sisters, ask about booking the family in one after another.

If Your Child Is Nervous
Lots of children feel unsure the first few times, and that's normal. We go at their pace. If they only want to sit in the chair and go for a ride up and down on the first visit, that's still a good start.
Children pick up on what grown-ups say, so keep it positive and low-key at home. Let us know about any worries, sensory needs or additional support needs when you book, and we'll plan the appointment around them.
Before the Visit
Baby Teeth Still Matter
Milk teeth keep the space for adult teeth, help with chewing and clear speech, and support the shape of the face. A decayed baby tooth can still hurt and become infected, so we treat problems early rather than wait for the tooth to fall out.
For teenagers, we keep an eye on wisdom teeth and how the bite is developing. If braces might help, we'll explain the options and refer to an orthodontist where that's right. For children who play rugby, football or hockey, a custom sports mouthguard (£190) gives far better protection than a shop one.
