Deposits, Fees and Cancellations
At Hamilton Smile Studios, free consultations need a £40 deposit, returned within 7 days of the appointment. Every fee is agreed in writing before treatment and then stays fixed. We ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange.

Deposits
Why we take one: a free hour in the diary that nobody turns up for is an hour another patient could have had.
Free consultations for implants, Invisalign, composite bonding and smile makeovers need a £40 deposit when you book
Facial aesthetics consultations with Dr Sharma need a £50 deposit
You get it back within 7 days of attending, whether or not you go ahead with treatment

The deposit only applies to free consultations. Dental examinations, hygiene and emergency visits are charged as on our price list, or covered by your plan
Written, Fixed Fees
You should know the cost before you sit down for treatment, not after.
Our whole price list is on this website, and those are the prices we charge
Before a course of treatment starts, you get a written plan: what we recommend, the other options, and a price for each step
When the price list says "from", your plan swaps that for the exact amount in your case
Once you accept the plan, the fee is fixed. If we find something unexpected partway through, such as a crack under an old filling, we pause and explain before anything extra is done or charged
Taking the plan home to think about it is normal. There's no deadline and no pressure to say yes in the chair
Plan members get 10% off most private work. Implants, orthodontics and larger cosmetic cases aren't discounted
Cancelling or Rebooking
Life happens. Tell us early and we can usually offer the time to someone in pain.

If you miss a free consultation without letting us know, the deposit is kept
Stuck in traffic on the M74? Phone ahead. If there's still time we'll see you; if not, we'll find another slot
If we ever have to move your appointment, we'll let you know as early as we can and offer the next time that works for you
Reminders come by text, so keep your mobile number up to date with reception
Our Implant Guarantee
What it covers and what it asks of you, set out in plain terms.
Implants placed here come with a 5-year guarantee for non-smokers who attend hygiene visits every 3 months
We use MegaGen AnyRidge implants, placed with MegaGen R2 guided surgery through a 3D-printed guide planned on a CT scan
Smoking and gum infection are among the commonest reasons implants fail, so the guarantee asks you not to smoke and to keep up regular hygiene visits
Plan B includes a hygiene appointment every three months, which matches what the guarantee asks for
The full terms are written into your consent form, and Dr Sharma goes through them before you sign
NHS Care
Children are registered and treated on the NHS straight away, and we are registering new NHS adults now.
Every NHS dental examination in Scotland is free. Treatment costs nothing for under-26s, during pregnancy and for 12 months after having a baby, and for people on certain benefits
Other adults pay 80% of the NHS charge, with a ceiling of £384 for one course of treatment
You can mix the two. If you're an NHS patient you can opt to go private for a single tooth, a white filling at the back for example, and we'll give you both prices first
To register as an NHS adult, request a call back. You don't have to wait to be seen: private appointments are available meanwhile

Paying Over Time
Routine care can be spread with a dental plan; larger treatment is paid in stages agreed in your written plan.
Dental plans: Plan A at £24.10 or Plan B at £40.16 a month for dental examinations and hygiene, with emergency visits included
When It's Urgent
Not registered with us? You can still be seen for pain.
Emergency visits cost £70 for our patients and £70 for anyone not registered. Plan members pay nothing

Records and Complaints

Your medical history form comes as a secure link before your first appointment
Clinical photos are part of your record. We only show before-and-after photos publicly with your written consent, and results vary from person to person

If you're unhappy with anything, our complaints procedure tells you who to contact and how long a reply takes

Questions
Deposits, missed visits and paying.
Is the consultation free?–
Yes, consultations are free for dental implants and full-arch treatment, Invisalign, composite bonding, veneers and smile makeovers. To hold the time we take a £40 deposit when you book, and it's returned to you within 7 days of the appointment. If you need to cancel or rearrange, let us know at least 48 hours ahead. The deposit is only kept if you miss the appointment without telling us. A dental examination is a different appointment: the new patient examination, with X-rays, is £70.
What happens if I miss my appointment or cancel late?+
Let us know as soon as you can: a late cancellation still gets your consultation deposit back. If you need to cancel or rearrange, let us know at least 48 hours ahead. The deposit is only kept if you miss the appointment without telling us. Running behind? Phone us and we'll tell you whether there's still time to see you. Reminders go out by text, so check we have your current mobile number.
Can the price go up once my treatment has started?+
No: before anything begins you get a written treatment plan with a fixed fee, and that's what you pay. If something unexpected turns up partway through, such as a tooth needing more work than an X-ray could show, we stop and discuss it with you first. Nothing that would change the cost happens without your agreement.
Do your dental implants come with a guarantee?+
Yes, implant treatment in Hamilton comes with a 5-year guarantee for non-smokers who attend hygiene visits every 3 months. The conditions are there for a reason: smoking and poor cleaning are the two biggest causes of implant problems, and regular hygiene visits catch trouble early. We set out the exact terms in writing, in your consent form, before any treatment starts, so you know where you stand.

Yes. Children are registered and treated on the NHS straight away, and we are registering new NHS adults now. The quickest way to register is to request a call back and choose an NHS place.
