Teeth in a Day, Explained
The phrase sells well, so it's worth knowing exactly what it means. What gets fitted on the day, what's still to come, who it works for, and the questions to ask any clinic offering it.
Can I Get Teeth in a Day in Hamilton, and What Does It Involve?
Yes. In Hamilton, most full-arch patients leave surgery with a fixed temporary bridge screwed onto their new implants, as part of a fee from £12,500 per arch. Those same-day teeth are a sturdy temporary; the permanent bridge follows roughly three months on, when the bone has grown firmly onto the implants. Your CT scan at the consultation shows whether same-day teeth are realistic for you.
The Promise in Plain Terms
Teeth in a day, same-day teeth, smile in a day: the marketing varies, but the treatment is the same. On one visit, any failing teeth are removed, implants go into the jaw, and a fixed bridge is screwed onto those implants before you go home. You don't spend the healing months in a removable denture.
It's possible because an implant that grips the bone tightly at the moment it's placed can take gentle loading straight away. Joining several implants together with a bridge braces them against each other, a bit like the legs of a table, while the bone grows onto their surface.
The Small Print
The teeth fitted on the day are temporary. They're strong and they look natural, but they're made a little lighter and simpler on purpose, because they need to protect healing implants rather than take full chewing force. You'll eat soft food on them.
The permanent bridge is a separate piece of work. It's made from a digital scan once the implants are solid, typically around three months on, in acrylic, zirconia or zirconia on a titanium bar. So the treatment as a whole doesn't happen in a day. The consultation and planning come before, and the final teeth come after. What happens in a day is the part people dread most: going from bad teeth to fixed teeth without a toothless gap.
Could You Have Same-Day Teeth?
A free consultation and CT scan in Hamilton will give you a straight answer.
Is It Right for You?
Same-day teeth work best for people who:
- are losing all or most of the teeth in one jaw, or already wear a full denture
- have enough bone for the implants to lock in firmly, which the CT scan shows
- have healthy gums, or have had gum disease treated first
- don't smoke, or are ready to stop, since cigarettes do more harm to healing than anything else you control
Most full-arch patients we see in Hamilton fit. When bone is soft and an implant doesn't reach the grip we want on the day, we let it heal unloaded first and fit fixed teeth a little later. We'll tell you at the consultation which is likely, and it can still change on the day once we see how firm each implant is. 1
One Tooth on the Same Day
The same idea can apply to a single front tooth. If the socket and gum are healthy after an extraction, Dr Sharma can sometimes place an implant straight into it and fit a temporary crown at the same appointment. That crown is kept just clear of the bite while the implant heals, and the permanent one follows months later.
When it isn't safe to load the implant at once, a bonded temporary bridge or a small denture fills the gap instead. A single implant with its crown is from £2,605.
Surgery Day, Step by Step
- Plan ahead. Your CT scan, taken here, is used to position each implant on screen. A surgical guide is 3D printed from that plan, and the temporary bridge can be made in advance.
- Get comfortable. Local anaesthetic numbs the area. Most people also choose IV sedation at £500 per session, so they're calm and recall little.
- Place the implants. Remaining teeth come out, then MegaGen AnyRidge implants go in through the guide with MegaGen's R2 guided system. Each one's grip is measured.
- Fit the bridge. If they're firm enough, the temporary bridge is screwed on and the bite adjusted so it meets evenly.
- Go home. Someone collects you, with written aftercare and our number.

The Healing Months
For about three months it's soft food and careful cleaning around the temporary bridge with the small brushes we give you. You'll come back for reviews so we can check the gum and the bite. Once the implants are solid, a digital scan is taken for your permanent bridge, which is then fitted and fine-tuned. From that point, hygiene visits every three months keep the guarantee in place. Living with full-arch implants covers food and cleaning in more depth.
Cost
Same-day teeth aren't charged as an extra. Our full-arch fee starts at £12,500 per arch and already covers your scan and planning, any extractions, the implants and guide, the fixed temporaries where the bone allows them, the permanent bridge and a year of reviews. 2 The permanent bridge sets the fee: £12,500 for acrylic, £15,000 for zirconia and £18,500 for a titanium bar. The All-on-4 cost guide itemises everything.
