Teeth in a Day: Who It Suits
What makes same-day fixed teeth likely, what makes another route safer, and what we suggest instead when teeth on the day isn't the right fit for you.
Am I Suitable for Teeth in a Day in Hamilton?
Teeth in a day usually suits people losing all or most of the teeth in one jaw, or already in a full denture, whose bone is firm enough for the implants to grip on the day, whose gums are healthy or treated, and who don't smoke or will stop. It suits fewer people with untreated gum disease, poorly controlled diabetes, certain bone medicines, very soft bone or only one or two missing teeth. At Hamilton Smile Studios it comes with our Same-Day Fixed Teeth (£13,500 per arch) and Premium Guided Zirconia (£14,950) pathways, where clinically suitable.
What Teeth in a Day Means Here
On one visit, failing teeth are removed, four to six MegaGen AnyRidge implants go in, and a fixed temporary bridge is screwed onto them before you go home, where clinically suitable. 2 The final bridge follows about three months later, once the bone has grown onto the implants. Your CT scan answers most of the suitability question in advance. The rest is answered during surgery, by how firmly each implant holds.
Who It Tends to Suit
- People losing all or most of the teeth in one jaw, through decay, gum disease or crowns and bridges that keep failing
- Full denture wearers who want fixed teeth and still have enough bone, which the scan shows
- Bone dense enough for the implants to lock in tightly, so they can carry a bridge straight away
- Healthy gums, or gum disease that has been treated first
- Non-smokers, or people ready to stop for the weeks around surgery
- Stable general health, including diabetes that is well controlled
- Anyone who can clean around a bridge every day and keep hygiene visits every three months
It also suits people who simply can't spend months without teeth, for work or for confidence.
Find Out If You're Suitable
A free full-arch consultation in Hamilton includes your CT scan. You'll see your own bone on screen and hear which pathways are open to you.
Who It May Not Suit, or Not Yet
- One or two missing teeth with healthy neighbours. A single implant, from £2,605, keeps teeth that a full arch would remove.
- Active gum disease. It's treated first, because the same bacteria can attack implants.
- Heavy smoking. It slows healing and raises the chance of an implant not fusing.
- Poorly controlled diabetes, which affects healing in the same way.
- Some bone-strengthening medicines, especially by injection, or radiotherapy to the jaws. These need careful assessment and sometimes a different plan.
- Very soft or thin bone, where implants can't safely carry teeth on the first day.
- Heavy grinding, which may call for six implants and a night guard, £210.
None of these rules you out on its own. Each changes the plan, the timing or the pathway.
Other Routes to Fixed Teeth
If same-day teeth aren't right for you, the end result can still be a fixed bridge: 1
| Route | Per arch | Teeth on the day? |
|---|---|---|
| Healed Foundation: arch already healed, keep your denture while implants settle | £9,300 | No |
| Staged Treatment: teeth out first, temporary denture, implants once healed | £11,500 | No |
| Same-Day Fixed Teeth | £13,500 | Yes, where suitable |
| Premium Guided Zirconia | £14,950 | Yes, where suitable |
An implant-retained denture, from £8,500 per jaw, clicks onto fewer implants and comes out to clean. Our full-arch page sets out what each pathway includes.
If It Can't Happen on the Day
Even with a good scan, nobody can promise same-day teeth before the implants are in. If an implant isn't firm enough to load, you leave with the alternative your written plan sets out, such as a temporary denture, and the fixed teeth follow after healing. On the two same-day pathways your fee stays the same either way. Anyone who guarantees teeth in a day before scanning you is promising something they can't yet know.
How We Decide with You
It starts with a free full-arch consultation at 20–22 Brandon Street, with the CT scan taken here. Dr Nikhil Sharma, our principal dentist, goes through your medical history, shows you your bone on screen and tells you which pathways are open to you. You leave with a written plan and a fixed fee before anything is booked. IV sedation is available at £500 per session if you'd rather be relaxed through surgery.
Hamilton Smile Studios is an NHS practice inspected by NHS Lanarkshire. Full-arch implants are private treatment, and our implant, full-arch and Invisalign consultations are all free.
Questions
This guide is general information, not a diagnosis. A dentist needs to examine you to say what is right for your teeth.
