Broken Tooth, Hamilton
Chipped or Broken a Tooth?
If you've broken or chipped a tooth in Hamilton, there's usually a slot that same weekday for £70, and you needn't be one of our patients. Many breaks are repaired at that first visit. Even a badly cracked tooth can often be saved if it's seen before the damage spreads. We see broken teeth the same day on weekdays in Hamilton, from £70. Most can be saved, and many are repaired there and then.
Emergency visit £70 (£70 if you're not registered), free on our dental plans. Evenings and weekends: NHS 24 on 111. 1
Right Now, at Home
A few minutes of sensible first aid protects the tooth and makes the wait more bearable.
How a Broken Tooth Is Repaired
The right repair depends on how much tooth has gone and whether the nerve has been exposed. We'll show you on the X-ray and talk you through it.
A Small Chip at the Front
Tooth-coloured composite is built up and shaped by hand, usually with no drilling and no injection: composite bonding at £395 a tooth. Done in one visit.
A Lost Corner or Old Filling
A white filling from £105 on a front tooth or £118 on a back tooth. Where a lot of tooth has gone, a full build-up (£350).
A Crack in a Back Tooth
Cracks tend to creep. A ceramic onlay (£750) or a crown (from £675) wraps the tooth and holds it together. A temporary protects it while that's made.
The Nerve Is Showing
A pink dot in the break, or pain that throbs on its own, means the nerve is involved. Root canal treatment (from £450) settles it, usually followed by a crown.
A Split Below the Gum
Some teeth can't be rescued. If so we take it out gently and talk through what fills the gap: a denture, a bridge or a dental implant.
Damaged Bonding, Veneer or Crown
We repair or replace it and look at why it happened. If grinding is the culprit, a night guard protects the new work.

Does a Small Chip Need Fixing?
Not always. A tiny nick in the enamel that doesn't hurt, isn't sharp and doesn't bother you can simply be smoothed and watched at your next dental examination.
It's worth getting looked at if the chip is in dentine (the yellower layer under the enamel), if it's sensitive, or if it's on a back tooth that takes your bite. Those are the breaks that get bigger. A quick look and an X-ray tell us which kind you have.
Fees
You pay one fee for the emergency visit. You'll have a written price for the lasting repair before any of it starts, so there are no surprises. Prices checked October 2026. 1
