Veneer Prices in Hamilton
Dr Nikhil Sharma sets out what a tooth costs, what a full smile adds up to, how local prices compare and what a quote should spell out.
How Much Do Veneers Cost in Hamilton?
Porcelain veneers in Hamilton are from £695 a tooth at Hamilton Smile Studios, and composite veneers are £395 a tooth. Composite also comes in whitening-inclusive packages, £1,550 for four teeth up to £3,950 for ten, and a typical full smile covers six to ten teeth. You don't pay extra for the smile design or trial smile, and you get a fixed written fee after a free consultation.
The Price of One Tooth
Porcelain veneers start at £695 a tooth. They're made by a dental laboratory from a digital scan and usually mean shaping a fine layer of enamel, and they commonly last 10 to 15 years. Composite veneers are £395 a tooth. Dr Sharma sculpts them directly onto the tooth, usually over one or two appointments and often without an injection, and they generally want refreshing every three to five years. 1
"From" is the fee for a straightforward tooth. One that needs an old filling replaced, or extra work to mask a very dark colour, can cost more, and your plan shows the fee tooth by tooth before anything is done. For a full comparison of the two materials, see porcelain or composite veneers.
Totals for a Full Smile
| Number of teeth | Composite (package) | Porcelain, from |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | £1,550 | £2,780 |
| 6 | £2,350 | £4,170 |
| 8 | £3,150 | £5,560 |
| 10 | £3,950 | £6,950 |
Each composite package comes with home whitening, plus a dental examination and polish once the bonding has bedded in. The porcelain column is the starting fee multiplied by the number of teeth. 1 Stand in front of a mirror and smile widely: the number of upper teeth you can see is roughly how many a full change involves. A narrow smile may need six; a broad one, ten.

How Hamilton Prices Compare
Around Lanarkshire, practices that publish a price advertise porcelain veneers from about £350 to £625 a tooth. Across Scotland the spread is wider, at roughly £300 to £765. Those are headline figures, and they aren't always like for like. Some don't say which porcelain is used, some quote for a set rather than a tooth, and few mention whether the design, temporaries and review are included.
Our starting fee of £695 includes a digital smile design, a trial smile in your mouth before any tooth is shaped, temporary veneers while the porcelain is made, the fitting and a review. If you live in Bothwell, Blantyre or Larkhall and already hold a quote from elsewhere, compare what each one actually covers, not just the figure at the bottom.
What Sits Inside the Fee
- A free consultation, held with a £40 deposit that's refunded within seven days of attending
- Photos, video and an iTero Lumina 3D scan (no putty impressions)
- A digital smile design and a trial smile, so you see the result before committing
- Temporary veneers between preparation and fitting
- Fitting, bite adjustment, polish and a follow-up review
- A written plan with a fixed fee that won't change once treatment starts
Composite packages come with whitening. For porcelain, home whitening beforehand is £350, and a night guard for grinders is £210. 1
Things That Push the Price Up or Down
- Tooth count. Each tooth is priced, so six against ten is the largest variable.
- Material. Porcelain costs more now and needs replacing less often.
- Groundwork. Decay, gum problems or failing fillings on front teeth are treated first and listed separately.
- Crowding. Straightening with Invisalign adds cost and time but can mean fewer veneers, or thinner ones.
- Colour. Very dark teeth need more masking, which can affect the fee and favour porcelain.
An unusually low quote can mean a cheaper material, no trial smile, or extras charged later. Ask what's covered before you compare totals.
What You Get for the Money Over Time
A fair way to compare the two materials is cost per year rather than cost on the day. Porcelain costs more to start with, but it often goes 10 to 15 years before it needs replacing, and it keeps its colour and shine for most of that time. Composite is cheaper now, but over the same period you'd expect to have it polished and refreshed a few times, and perhaps fully redone once.
So for someone in their twenties or thirties who wants the same smile for a long time, porcelain often ends up costing a similar amount over the years. For someone who wants to keep as much natural tooth as possible, or who isn't sure yet, composite is the better place to start. Dr Sharma will put both options side by side in your plan when both suit your teeth.
Reading a Quote Properly
Whoever you see, a veneer quote should answer these in writing:
- Is the price a tooth or for a set, and how many teeth?
- Are these veneers, or crowns? Crowns remove far more tooth.
- How much enamel will be shaped, and will I see a trial smile first?
- Are design, temporaries, fitting and review included?
- What material is used, and who makes it?
- What happens if a veneer chips or comes off, and what would that cost?
- Is the total fixed before treatment starts?

Cheaper Routes Worth Considering
Veneers aren't the only answer, and sometimes not the best one. If colour is the only complaint, home whitening at £350 may be enough. Small chips and uneven edges can often be tidied with edge bonding at £395 a tooth. Crooked teeth are usually better straightened, with Invisalign from £2,500, whitening and retainers included, and many people find afterwards that they don't want veneers at all. 1
One or two well-matched veneers on a single dark or odd-shaped tooth can also change a smile more than people expect. The aim of the consultation is the smallest amount of treatment that gets the look you want.
