Implant Costs in Hamilton
Our fees for one tooth, a few teeth or a whole jaw, what each price covers and leaves out, how the figures sit against Lanarkshire, and how to make two quotes comparable.
How Much Do Dental Implants Cost in Hamilton?
At Hamilton Smile Studios a single dental implant with its crown costs from £2,605, before any bone grafting. That price covers the digital planning, a MegaGen AnyRidge implant placed through a 3D-printed guide, the connecting abutment and the crown; the CT scan is £160 on top, and a graft, only if your scan shows one is needed, is £535 or £998. Consultations are free, and fixed teeth for a whole jaw start at £12,500 per arch.

What the Single-Tooth Fee Buys
The headline fee runs from the planning stage to the finished tooth. In order, it pays for:
- A digital plan built on your CT scan, so the implant's length, width and angle are chosen before the day of surgery
- A 3D-printed surgical guide made from that plan, used with MegaGen's R2 guided system
- The implant itself: a MegaGen AnyRidge, a brand whose implants hold the CleanImplant Trusted Quality seal
- The abutment that joins implant to crown
- A crown designed from an iTero Lumina scan of your mouth, with no putty trays, shaded to sit beside your own teeth
- The check visits while the bone heals, and the fit appointment
- A 5-year guarantee for non-smokers who attend hygiene visits every 3 months
Dr Nikhil Sharma, our principal dentist, plans every implant case on the CT scan and places the implants, so the person who drew up your plan is the one carrying it out.

What Can Be Added, and Why
Some people pay the headline fee and nothing more. Others need one or two of these, and your written plan says which before you agree to anything:
- CT scan, £160. Needed for almost every implant. It's billed separately for single and multiple implants because plenty of people have one, think it over and decide against treatment, and the scan is theirs regardless. Plan members pay £144.
- Bone graft, £535 or £998. Only where the ridge is too thin or too low. Many people need neither. Our bone grafting guide explains how we decide.
- Taking the old tooth out. A routine extraction is £125; a surgical one is £450.
- Something to fill a front gap while you heal. An immediate acrylic denture at £495, or a bonded bridge at £675 per unit. Back teeth rarely need one.
- IV sedation. £500 for the session, then £250 for every extra half hour.
Two Worked Examples
A lower back tooth lost years ago. The scan shows the ridge has narrowed a little, so a small graft goes in alongside the implant. CT scan £160, implant and crown £2,605, small graft £535: £3,300 in total.
A broken front tooth that still has to come out. CT scan, a routine extraction, the implant and crown, and a temporary denture so there's never a gap at work: £3,385 in total, with no graft needed.
These are illustrations, not quotes. Yours depends on what the scan shows, and it's fixed in writing before the first appointment. 1
Several Teeth, or a Whole Jaw
Neighbouring implants are charged per implant and per crown, so two side by side start at £5,210. Where three or more teeth are missing in a row, two implants carrying a short bridge is often the better design and the cheaper one, and we'll price that option too.
For a whole jaw there are two routes. Fixed full-arch teeth are a one-piece bridge screwed to four to six implants: £12,500 per arch in acrylic, £15,000 in zirconia, or £18,500 for zirconia on a titanium bar. Each fee includes the CT scan, the planning, extractions, the implants, temporary teeth fitted on surgery day where the bone allows, 2 and the final bridge. Both jaws in acrylic come to £25,000.
An implant-retained denture clicks onto implants and comes out for cleaning, from £8,500 per jaw. Our full-arch page and implant-retained dentures page explain who suits each.
How the Price Sits in Lanarkshire
When we looked at published fees in October 2026, practices across Lanarkshire that list a price at all advertised a single implant with crown from roughly £2,275 to £3,000, with most around £2,500 to £2,700. Scotland-wide the usual band is about £2,000 to £3,000. Plenty of practices publish no implant price, which makes it hard to compare until you've sat in the chair.
Our single-tooth fee of £2,605 sits in the upper half of that band. What it pays for is spelled out above: CT-based planning, a printed guide, a named implant system, the crown and the guarantee. A figure at the bottom of the band can be just as fair, as long as it covers the same things. Our acrylic full-arch fee sits at the lower end of the per-arch prices we found published in the county.
Why Two Quotes Rarely Match
A patient from East Kilbride and one from Motherwell can bring us quotes hundreds of pounds apart for what sounds like the same tooth. Usually it's down to one of these:
- Part of the job is missing from the headline. Some figures are the implant alone, with the crown, abutment or scan listed elsewhere.
- Planning. A CT scan and a printed guide cost money and take away guesswork. Placement from a flat X-ray costs less to deliver.
- The implant brand. Systems with long research records and parts stocked worldwide cost a practice more than lesser-known copies.
- How the work is split. One dentist from start to finish, or a visiting surgeon followed by a different dentist for the crown.
- Aftercare. Reviews, a written guarantee and a hygiene plan are either part of the price or they aren't.
Questions That Make Quotes Comparable
- Does the figure include the crown and the abutment?
- Is the implant planned on a CT scan, and is the scan in the price?
- Which implant system will you use, by name?
- Will a surgical guide be used?
- Who places the implant and who fits the crown?
- How likely is a graft in my case, and what would it add?
- What happens, and who pays, if the implant fails?
- Is the total fixed in writing before treatment begins?
Our written plan answers each of these. Ask the same of any practice and lay the answers side by side. Our guide to choosing an implant dentist in Lanarkshire covers the rest.
Treatment Abroad and the Price Gap
Clinics in Turkey and Hungary advertise implants well below Scottish prices, and some of that work is good. The gap narrows once flights, hotels, return visits and aftercare back home are counted, and widens again if something needs repairing here. Our guide to implants abroad versus Scotland sets the two side by side fairly, and we'll look at any foreign plan or finished work for you.
Is an Implant Worth the Outlay?
Up front an implant costs more than the alternatives. A three-unit bridge is £695 a unit, so about £2,085, and it means cutting down the teeth on each side. A small acrylic denture starts at £565 but loosens as the gum shrinks beneath it and needs relining and remaking.
An implant leaves the neighbouring teeth untouched and keeps loading the bone, so the ridge holds its shape. Looked after well, the implant can last for decades; the crown may want replacing at some point, as any crown does. Counted over twenty years, the gap in cost often closes. Our guide to implant, bridge or denture weighs the three properly.
Questions
This guide is general information, not a diagnosis. A dentist needs to examine you to say what is right for your teeth.
